In 1999, activists took a stand for global justice and stopped the World Trade Organization (WTO) meeting in Seattle, Washington. Tens of thousands of trade unionists, enviromentalists, farmers, students, teachers, faith leaders and many others worked together to challenge the WTO agenda and catapulted the global justice movement forward. It's an exciting example of people power successfully taking on a major international institution. A new film, Battle in Seattle, starring Andre Benjamin, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Rodriguez, Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron showcases this historic movement and it's opening soon near you!In order to get the film screened across the country, it is critical that it's first two weeks in theaters be successful.
